An education peak body had reached the end of its five-year strategic planning cycle and sought an innovative approach to redefine its strategy. The organisation was eager to not only craft a forward-thinking plan but also embed it into its operational framework to ensure sustainable and measurable outcomes.
A contemporary strategic planning approach was created that integrates seamlessly into day-to-day operations and ensures consistent delivery of outcomes.
Challenges
- The existing strategic planning process was disconnected from daily operations, leading to inconsistent delivery of outcomes and the team was already stretched.
- Limited integration of their strategy into the executive and board reporting processes hindered understanding, accountability, visibility.
- A need for a fresh, adaptive approach to strategy that was energising and got the team out of business as usual and reflected contemporary best practices.
Strategy
We collaborated with the board and executive team to design a dynamic, outcomes-focused approach to strategic planning. This included incorporating quarterly reviews, interactive dashboards, and defined rhythms for reporting and accountability.
